Ricky Harrison

Ricky Harrison, native of Dallas, TX, grew up at Buckingham UMC and FUMC Richardson where he was actively involved in Bridgeport Camps and the North Texas Conference Council on Youth Ministry. Ricky received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion from McMurry University in Abilene, TX. While in Abilene, he was active in campus ministry and served for a year at St. James UMC where he had the joy of preaching weekly and working with youth.

In 2014, Ricky moved to Durham, North Carolina, where he currently resides and is pursuing a Master of Divinity at Duke Divinity School (excitedly looking forward to graduation in May!). For the past two years, Ricky has served on staff at Apex United Methodist Church in ministry with youth and their families.

Ricky’s own family resides in Wichita Falls, where his mother serves at First United Methodist Church (one of the many congregations he is proud to call ‘home’). In his free time, Ricky loves to read theology and fantasy fiction, spend time in the mountains, experiment with cooking, and listen to Willie Nelson. He can typically be found sporting a pair of Chacos during all seasons of the year in perpetual protest against closed-toe shoes.
