Stay Safe and Have Fun During the Summer Heat

May 19, 2018
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

FREE Event!

How many times have we ended our Sunday services singing, “Go ye, go ye, into the world…”

As United Methodists, that is our primary charge – to carry the love of Christ Jesus out into the world, right? And one of our most successful events to make our church visible to our neighbors was our Trunk or Treat adventure last fall.

So why not recapture that energy again this spring? Of course!

On Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., we are hosting a Summer Safety and Fun Festival in the parking lot. We have great plans and many Wise County friends have agreed to share activities and information with our neighbors about ways to stay safe and have fun during the hot summer vacation season.

The Decatur Police and Fire Departments, Fit ‘n’ Wise, Texas Agrilife Extension Service, Decatur Public Library and others will be joining us.

We’ll have a water bounce house, a petting zoo, and Kona Ice food truck vendor here to keep us cool. We will be offering free hot dogs and water; and remember too, our Sun Block challenge to collect many, many, many bottles of sun block to give away and more!

And, if you are, or are considering being a blood donor, Carter Blood Care will have their truck here for you. (Registration times available here.)

As more participants join us, we will keep you updated. For now, save May 19, 2018, 4:00-6:00 p.m. for the Summer Safety and Fun Festival. Bring in your bottles of sun block, and put donating blood on your “to do” list.

See you there!
