5th Annual Live Thankfully
Begins November 27, 2017
Live Thankfully is in its 5th year in Wise County. We are pleased to be a partner again with this group! At the heart of this movement is the desire to help hungry families during the Christmas Break by donating food for them. This is a very worthwhile community partnership, in addition to our continuing gathering of food and supplies for WARM.
In 2017, there are more than 200 families who need help with food. We are receiving food items from November 27 – December 7, 2017. There will be a plastic tub, marked “Live Thankfully,” near the lower entrance of the main building, outside the Church Administrative Offices, and at the entrance to the MAC where you can drop off your food donations.
On Sunday, December 11, 2017, there is the annual “Party with a Purpose” at 5:00 p.m. where the donated food items from across the community will be sorted and bagged by volunteers (this includes you, if interested) for delivery to the schools during the following week.
The following items are some of the most needed:
- Canned meats (tuna, chicken, beef stew, chili)
- Canned potatoes, carrots, peas
- Canned fruit (no pineapple please)
- Boxes of rice
- Peanut butter
- Instant oatmeal
- Instant potatoes
- Macaroni & cheese
- Applesauce
- Granola bars
- PopTarts
- Pasta
- Soup mixes
- Biscuit or muffin mix (that you just add water)
- Evaporated milk or powdered milk
- Crackers or tortillas.
Thank you for helping feed those who have food challenges!
